Aramco

Hoping there might be some people on here that are familiar with Aramco ('AramcoExpats' appears to be no longer, certainly for new members). I have a few questions:

GC Bands - Looking for some advice around the limits/tolerance around job grades, is this fairly fixed or do they just match your job grade to your existing salary + expat premium? Does the job grade impact things like reporting lines etc and therefore they matter, or is it purely a salary reference - and how wide are these bands?
I seem to have progressed with role, but advertised role sounds very junior. I appreciate there is probably some flex in that, but not sure if there is enough as i'm guessing i would come in a few bands above, all else being equal?

Separately, if there is anyone who has recently been through or currently going through the onboarding process - please DM me - thank you!

Re: Aramco

Hi there,

I had a 30-minute virtual interview with Aramco 3 weeks ago, a day later, the status on the portal changed from You have been selected for a Live Interview to You have been selected for an interview.
I haven't heard back just yet, I did follow-up with the Aramco recruiter but he said there's been no Feedback so far. Did anyone went through a similar experience?

TIA

Re: Aramco

Did HR contact you out the blue about the interview or was everything routed through the portal? Mine just continues to say 'Congratulations! Your application has been forwarded to the hiring organization' - the process feels painfully slow.

Re: Aramco

It should "you've been selected for an interview" for a couple of days then changed to "you've been selected for an online interview" and a day later the recruiter reached out to me.
Indeed, it's going super slow and sometimes it's hard to decipher what those status messages mean.

I've just gone through the whole interview process and I've passed all the stages. The process took almost a year but now I've landed a provisional job with them on the basis that my paperwork checks out. They're pestering me for pay slips which I've refused to give them as I've read that they tend to match what you're getting with a little on top.

I can do. Do you just want a summary of it or what happened at every stage/step of the way?

Cheers but I may not accept it if they're going to match my current salary and give me an expat preimum on top of it as it's not worth it then. For now, I've said no to their request for pay slips as I don't want them to price match. I've asked them why they want them and I want it written in an email.

Salary + x% uplift offers has been the norm for years. KSA much like Dubai now in that there are so many people who want to move they don't have to throw money around to get them to join.

Just keen to understand the process and timeline a bit better. It appears i'm in a holding stage atm, its been about 6 weeks now, which is frustrating. So just keen to understand what the likely next steps are and when things might start to move again. Thanks.

Ah I was at the holding stage for a few months... I applied back in June 2024, shortlisted with my application sent to the hiring manager until November 2024. The status changed to proceeding to interview stage from Nov 2024 to March 2025. I had an online interview in mid-March 2025 followed by another interview which was face-to-face in mid-May 2025. The next day after the second interview, I had a provisional offer around 10AM along with instructions on what happens next.

I've been told that it will take up to 5 weeks to sort out the paperwork and if everything is okay with the information I've sent to them, then they'll make a formal offer. After the formal offer has been accepted, a member of the relocation team will be in touch which will take up to 4 months to relocate me and my family from the UK to Saudi.

It's starts off very slow but picks up speed as it progresses and then slows down again :)

Sounds like I am tracking the same schedule as you - shortlisted in April, but now told all on hold till Sept, presumably for next years hiring cycle...

Hello,

I had my 1st online interview on the 6th of March 2025. I just got an email now saying "Congratulations on passing the 1st interview, the department has requested for a 2nd online interview"
You said your 2nd interview was face to face, so did you go to their office? Also what was the difference between your 1st interview and 2nd interview? Did they ask more technical questions or what? I am wondering why my 2nd interview is online again
Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi,
Yes, the second interview was face to face. Originally, they requested that I come to their office in Saudi but given where I work, I need at least 6 weeks notice. In the end, I ended up going to their office in London.
1st interview was a brief chat about my CV, my skills, my experience, and my qualifications. The second one was much more in depth and lasted much longer than the allocated time. They had a whiteboard, computers, etc. in the room. I had a panel of 4 or 5 people in the room asking me all sorts of questions and the discussions were very technical with some of them being specialists in their field. I finished the interview in the morning and I had my answer a few hours later that I had passed and they would like to bring me in.

I'm assuming because they can't make it due to israel's unprovoked attack on Iran and the threat of an all-out war thus they've switched yours to online.
