It depends in DXB which terminal you fly into. Come into T1 and the scanning of you hand luggage coming in is minimal and they don't insist on taking of jackets, emptying pockets etc so they aren't scanned.

T3 on the otherhand they do. In fact they seem quite on the ball there.
