Thanx Benson. I just checked the website. They do have many ads but only few have prices. I was told that it would be better for me so spend my first days at a hotel and then look for accommodation but I'd rather spend my time looking for a job than accommodation.

One guy just called me this morning for a room in a 6 BR apt. He says it's the best building in town but his prices range from 2000 to 3000, which is the same thing as a separate room at Al JAzeera.

Thanx a lot for your intervention. I wish I heard form you earlier cuz I'm spending my first night in a hotel that will cost me 270AED! But if I don't manage to find a place to stay, I'll go there in the meanwhile.

The older a building gets here, i.e. more than 10 years, the worse it becomes (stench, cockroaches, fungus, etc.). Maybe the buildings that have started to appear from the past 5 years onwards are better in such terms, but then the flats there are very, very, very expensive nowadays.
Go for Al Jazeera Residence, it's in a good location and really cheap compared to what is available now.

So where are you staying? Be careful with the heat and air con, I've just come back from there and my business partner had his air con on full blast and now has the flu, we were only there a few days, I didn't put my on, and I like the heat, and so far no snotty nose....
