Re: when to chase....
Seconded. Job offers are invariably conditional on a work visa being granted by MoL and even after that, when you arrive, on successful completion of blood test/x-ray checks also.
I would typically leave around a week and if you don't hear anything then drop them a line on the premise of confirming they have all the documents they need. It sounds like they've been pretty good to date so no need to worry unduly.
It is pretty stressful having to wait and you're quite right to assume that the fat lady hasn't actually started singing yet, hang on in there.

As advised I would just drop a little hello in every so often, chasing people here seems to have an adverse effect and if your details have been passed over to someone who doesn't really care then it may take a while!
If you really want to get ahead of yourself you could be getting your paperwork in order- get your degree certificate attested etc- personally i would think that would jinx it all but if you need to be doing something you could be doing that sort of stuff.
As people have said these things don't move very quickly- when I was negotiating my salary it was like pulling teeth as had to be apporoved by xy and z with each offer they made me... Patience is a virtue and is a bloody requirement living here so just get used to it- go smoke some shisha or something whilst they fanny about. :-)

Re: when to chase....
Currently waiting for medical. So far it's been a week since my passport was collected for processing.
I've nearly got one. I'm sure Co. Durham Boy is going to be devastated at that news, perhaps I've given fair warning to come up with some new shit banter? Is another few weeks enough time? Or does it take longer than that to find something equally shit to repeatrepeatrepeatrepeat?
Anyway, when we playing golf Mh? Arabian Ranches par3?

Oh, and because of that, the phone is constantly busy between 2 and 5. Might just turn up with 10 copies of the invoice and just do a sit in protest.
