Booked my second MMR jab for the 28th October, so at least I have a date of some sort to look forward to - lol.

I am trying not to micromanage the process as it is futile to, and instead am focusing my time on giving advice on here, and doing fun things offline too :p

How did you find out which immunizations you will need before your medical? Is the flu shot required?

We are sending our application off tomorrow so need to start getting all of the next steps ready!

Also, when paying by credit card, was it in one of your names? was it registered in the US or the UK?

It is on the US Embassy London Website, under Medical - most people seem to need MMR and Varicella (if you haven't had chickenpox), and Flu jab if you are in the flu season (which we are), as well as TDap (Tetanus/Diptheria Booster). I chose to get the TDap Booster, Flu jab and MMR as they were cheaper/free under the NHS, as it is quite expensive at Knightsbridge, which is where you have the medical.

You fill in a form with either of your credit card details; I put my details, mine was a UK card; as long as it is VISA/MasterCard it should be ok.

that's great thanks. A simple search in google pointed me in the direction of the vaccination information. My husband is going to his GP office tomorrow to request a history of his vaccinations.

I will phone the embassy tomorrow with the credit card information as both of us have cancelled all of our credit cards but my mother in law has offered to let us use hers. She has the same last name as my husband.

Usually you put the credit card info on the payment form when you file the petition ...

Also - at the interview itself they will need a payment on the day of the fees for the visa application, courier fees for returning the passport to you etc. Not sure if they require a credit card for that, or would accept a bankers draft. Worth looking into ...

http://london.usembassy.gov/dhs/uscis/i130filing.html - lists the forms

If you are talking about paying for the medical exam, I think that is paid directly to the doctor, is it not?

Hoffage,

Sorry, I was speaking about paying for the new I-130 petition. This is my husband's pet peeve, my inability to give relavant details in a conversation

Update: 21 Oct

- No case number yet. Next week will be 6 weeks since the approval. The letter said they would let me know within 8 weeks, so am still within deadline. Hope it doesn't take longer than 8 weeks, getting itchy feet, trying to stay patient.
