Cosmotology?

I think the US scraped its space plan.

You can do all the advanced work, find a School etc. whilst you are in the US.

The Visa interview will be in the UK.

Dunno whether you were being sarcastic or not :D but I believe the OP is referring to dermatology, cosmetics, beauty, etc. There's a degree for anything these days.

It's Cosmetology, not Cosmotology. I just renewed my wife's hairdresser license online this morning. At least here in New Jersey, licenses for hairdressers and whatever else job you need a license for in that business are managed by The Board of Cosmetology.

There is no degree required to get a hairdresser license, and I don't know if the schools offering training for that are permitted to accept F1 students or not. That is part of the research OP will have to do himself, and I suppose there would be nothing wrong with doing some of that research while he is still here. If he finds one that do take foreign students and are authorized to do so, he can then work on funding and apply for an F1 visa when he has returned to the UK at the end of his VWP visit.

My vwp ends end of Sept (Im being honest and posting everything here like I said because I want to do this properly) but can I say I have arranged an interview with the embassy in London or wherever can I fly back to england but book a return flight so Im there for ten days? Can I apply for a student visa when Im on the VWP? Or do I have to wait for the VWP to end?

As soon as you get back to the UK you can apply for a visa...if you went back tomorrow you could apply. Well no because tomorrow is Saturday but Monday you could apply as long as you're in the UK.:)

Huh?

You NEEEEEED to leave the USA before the VWP 90 days expires, end of story.

You can book whatever flight you want to. Whether you can actually use that ticket depends on when you get a visa to return to the USA.

You CANNOT apply for any kind of visa (no, not even a student visa), from inside the USA on the VWP. You NEED to leave the USA and apply for the visa from outside the USA. I'm not sure why you don't understand this concept.

You do not have to wait for the VWP to end. You can leave the USA tomorrow and go back home to apply for the correct visa, if you want to start earlier.

Just to let you know, it will take longer than 10 days to obtain a student visa. It takes longer than 10 days just to get an appointment at the US Embassy in London.

The very bottom line is, you cannot stay in the USA legally beyond the 90 days on the VWP which for you ends in about 2 more months (end of September). In order to obtain any type of visa to come to the USA, you must go back to the UK to apply for it. You cannot predict when you will be able to return to the USA using the visa you apply for, because you don't know how long it will take to get a visa interview appointment and whether you'll be awarded the visa. If you want to book tickets ahead of time and then cancel them later if it doesn't work out, that's up to you.

Yeah iv been here 3 weeks, just trying to sort everything out legally :) No matter what I will be going back before the 90 days, If I can arrange everything here with school and an appointment with the embassy from this side of the pond Il know exactly what day to go back and what to do and when I can come back to the states. I have two months to sort all this out do able I think especially when Im pulling my finger out now agreed?

You have been told repeatedly (that means "many times") that you can NOT apply for a visa while you are inside the US. I really don't understand why you can't grasp that simple concept. It's not difficult... it really isn't - and it has nothing to do with us knowing more about immigration stuff. It's just a simple concept... you can't get a visa while you are inside the US. End of story. Full stop.

I'm washing my hands of this. We've been patient; we've been polite; and we've given you all the legal options available to you. Since you don't want to learn, and will likely do whatever you want to do anyway... then all I have to say is good luck - you're going to need it!

So did you find out that this school accepts F-1 students?

Do you have enough in your savings account to cover the length of time you'll be studying in the USA (tuition and living expenses)?

Did you know that you won't be able to work the first year you are here on your student visa, and after that you can only work part time on campus?

Please be careful about what you are sorting out...don't pay for anything until you have the visa in your hand.

It will cost a lot but to be a good hairdresser, this will benefit my future if all goes well. Sucks I have to go back to apply for a visa but hey ho you live and learn

One point you should be aware of is that after completing the year and spending all that dosh, you will still basically be left with the choice of marry her or return to the UK.

I'm probably opening a whole 'nother can of worms here....but....you most likely will still need to prove you have the funds to cover your cost of living in the USA. Having a USC girlfriend who is willing to support you, goes against you in this case.

Just saying...make sure you have enough in your savings to cover the entire length of time you'll be at the US school, both for tuition AND cost of living. That includes rent, utilities, food, school expenses, transportation.
