are you keen on the queen?

Well I DO admire the Queen.
It def wasn't the Sunday Sport, so there must be some mileage in it.

Just curious but how do YOU feel about the Royals? Are they to be done way with (as did the French, no guillotine of course) or does one keep them? Is is right to be born into wealth and privilege and still have a loyal following? If one doesn't like the British monarchy is it the institution itself one doesn't care for? Or is it more so because of those who happen to presently occupy the seats?
I myself have no problem. I am not enamoured by the Royals. They do not affect me. If the Brits want them to stay then so be it.

The older generation love them - my Nan thinks they are all wonderful.
I also think the National Anthem should be changed!

I can not be sure but I seem to recall him mentioning the 'King of England' although she is Queen of the realm. This I think he said this shortly after they got rid of the Egyptian Royals.
The point being that the British Monarchy would be the very last to go.
So far he has been proven correct.
(A well known Canadian TV journalist/broadcaster once told me, perhaps as a joke, that there are only three people that matter. The US President, the Pope, and the Queen.

In a few years there will be only five kings in the world -- the King of England and the four kings in a pack of cards. - Farouk I

No .. a male but still works for CBC .. I see him often on TV.
That comment goes back to 1984. As I say the man I suspect was not 100% serious because of the grin as he said it.
