Re: wot no orange squash!!
Technically, according to the pediatric gastroenterologist we ended up referred too, milk is a food, not a drink. If your kids drink nothing but milk, there is a good chance of dehydration and/or constipation I'm afraid.
My kids drink a fair amount of milk, but we also make sure its not all they drink.

I have found polish cordials in bakeries or funny supermarkets - blackcurrant or mint which have very few ingredients (not full of rubbish) which diluted with water keep my kids happy although OJ or milk or water is usually their first choice. They are also sometimes in the mixers section in supermarkets.

Water's good!
Apple juice, cranberry juice (we usually add water)
Tropicana is great - you can get the big jugs at Walmart for about 7 or 8 bucks.
Soy milk (So Good, Vanilla flavoured, for those flavinoids)
Water!

Does anyone find, or is it just me, that Ribena over here tastes totaly different? I bought some the other day, and i found it just doesnt have that distinctive Ribena taste! So sad....Oh well, but i regularly buy Grathams Lemon barley and Orange squash which arent too bad actually! Will have to get the parents to bring me over some ribena when they come over! or go to an english shop!

All the dilute stuff is full of sugar and if it says sugar free it is full of Aspartame....Milk is full of antibiotics and hormones and organic milk costs a fortune here.....
My two boys have waaaay too much energy anyway so they drink filtered water and organic rice milk (which is probably contaminated with cyanide OR is it arsenic) - not at the same time though....
Good luck in your search!!!!

That's called Tang here. Green box I think. It tastes vile, our tastebuds were somewhat challenged when we were children. My lot have finally given in and drink Country Time (lemon-ish) when they don't want water, milk or juice.

watered down fruit juice is what I give the little one now with milk or water and she doesn't notice the lack of squash. it's also handy going to restaurants as I know that she will always drink the apple juice that they always seem to have.

Re: wot no orange squash!!
we had the same issue when we arrived, 2 kids who love to drink squash as an alternative to water. In the Uk we used to buy huge bottles of vimto, ribena etc and it lasted ages. First time atthe supermarket here and i was devastated to find they dont do it. I found Lime cordial but i asscociate that more with alcoholic mixers ( vodka lime and lemonade mmmmm) and is a bit "tarte" for just mixing. I asked around at work and came up with a few options, 1) fruit juices = expensive in comparison to cordial. 2) frozen cans of juice that u mix with water = not a bad option but not the best either, cetainly tastes ok. 3) powder packets like tang or Kool Aid - though i was astounded at the amount of sugar u have to put in one of those i think it was the kool aide stuff. 4) Crystal lite - nice low cal drinks ( powder form) but do have aspartame in them so not so good.
Making upthe powderd drinks is a pain in the a*s and theyd ont taste too nice either. I have started buying the frozen minute maid drinks instead and mix em with water - still not as cheap as good ole cordial in the UK but definately the best option over here as an alternative to water for the kids. I also succumed and bought a bottle of ribena the other day - havent tried it yet its under lock and key hahahaha
