Default working from home, ideas and suggestions welcomed

Need some help ... what with the internet, loads of time, the telephone, and canada post, it seems to me there must be ways of working from the house. I don't mean those phony get-rich-quick schemes, or where one has to shell out big cash upfront with promises of untold riches, or multi level marketing pyramid schemes (scams).

What I am looking for is a perfectly legal honest practical money making activity which requires time, moderate intelligence and perserverance and might involve other family members all working as a team.

Me, I am not selling or promoting anything here. I just want a few to contribute if they can.

Thanks in advance!

I know of & met a couple of Ebay millionaires....

And if you have the interest, there is always spreadbetting and sharetrading but it does require discipline and patience.

Thanks for the input so far even including the massage idea.

What I am also hoping to hear is from members who are already set up at home and who might be ready to share and who can do so without disclosing anything too confidential.

Hi Mike,

Are you interest in stock trading? I do stock trading part time, lots
of reading to do ,strategic planning , and bargain hunting.

The core of the investments are dividends producing stocks
to provide the cash flow to speculate .

I only get tax deduction on interest borrowed to fund the dividend
stocks because I am still working full time and choose not to declare
it as my home business for now.
Would you believe it?,it was the retirees that taught me and encouraged
me to do the online trading in 90's.
Good luck with your decision
Yoong

I give Reiki treatments from home - and teach Reiki and other voodoo

Home treatments like massage etc, are big in Canada so it might be worth adding that string to your bow if you haven't got it already and/or if you fancy it. Massage peeps have to be registered though I believe.

We're also planning on a few other internet/home based activities - but they're still getting sorted.

It is definitely the way amongst the Canadians we know to multi-task - everyone seems to have several revenue streams.

Probably not for a guy, but I work from home doing what is more or less dictaphone typing. I get sent sound files and I transcribe them using a virtual "dictaphone". Then I send the Word files back again on the company's server.

I get what I would call pretty good money as its UK rates, which are higher than here. I have also chosen only to work part time. But I know of a woman in New Zealand who works full time and obviously earns a lot more than I do.

If anyone is interested, I found my companies doing a google search for -- maybe "on-line transcription companies" - something like that.

I work from home. My partner and I own marquees that are hired out through the summer (I do the admin and sales, partner puts them up), I also work as an internet researcher, bloodstock researcher, web designer (very small scale) and I make test-tube heater units.

Mike - is there anything like RCS http://www.rcs.plc.uk/start.asp in Canada? You could become a print reseller maybe?

A woman with whom I had a particularly squalid affair worked from home as a medical insurance claim coder. Boxes of medical claim forms arrived by UPS and she would type the content into an internet based application encrypting the data as she went. This required a computer, high speed internet and the ability to remember a great number of medical terms and their equivalent codes. The money was pretty good but to her, and the other occupants of her house, the big draw was that working from home meant not having to pass a piss test; Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty could work in this field.
