Default Winter Endeth...

So it started snowing the weekend after Thanksgiving and it stopped on Monday, so I make that six and a half months of winter weather. The yearly average for temperatures below freezing is 190 days, so that sounds about right.

For those of you thinking of moving here...

Now awaiting the thunderstorms. And the mosquitos.

Don't feel too bad, winter endeth in southern Britain only two weeks ago and I think Scotland is still having some mixed weather. Having said that, I believe the bluebells are just out now and I may go and track some down.

So the season of hail storms and flooded basements begins. Oops! I almost forgot about all those potholes that appear every spring in Edmonton. Great fun doing a kind of dressage round them. Kind of difficult to see which side of the remains of the road you should actually be on and very awkward indeed if you happen to mistake a big hole for a puddle and land in it nose first. Happy days!

Yeah, It's mid 20's and sunny here right now. Although, my sitting around enjoying it has been interrupted by a small wasps nest that has appeared on the outside of the house. It's only an inch or so across and looks eerily beautiful - unfortunately wasps terrify me so it's got to go.

You need to get yourself some that wasp spray that shoots out 20'. Its fun to blast the buggers with it.

Ah, the dreaded BC micro wasp! Nasty things, they fly up your nostrils and sting your brain.

It brought out Orange Man across the way, who although is out for the first time this year tying to get more orange, is suspiciously really orange already.

The locals call them bees for some reason. I'll never understand why

As nice as VI is we have decided that a move here is not on the cards for various reasons, but definately thinking strongly on Ontario, it takes a bit of remebering that others parts of Canada have lots to offer compared to Alberta.
