Re: Winter 2016-17
I've just been watching the snow removal operation down our street.
Heavy truck after heavy truck after heavy truck thundering along, replacing each one when it has a full load of blown in snow - which appeared to be every two plots - and then followed by a plow to "tidy up" the bits left behind...by moving across the nice, previously cleared, end of driveway. Again. :( |
Re: Winter 2016-17
Five consecutive days of plus temperatures coming up with not even the feels like bringing it down to zero.

It's all gone away hasn't it Bristol?
Hope it keeps off though. Mother in law now has physio appointments at the hospital to help her recover from her broken ankle. Not the best conditions to have to struggle on one foot up and down steps...even getting in and out of taxis at icy/snow covered kerbsides. :( |
Re: Winter 2016-17
We've had almost two feet of soggy snow on Vancouver Island with the plough making sure to leave a good big heap across the end of the drive soon after we'd cleared the last pile away. With the temperature rising, most of the snow has now gone. It has been a horrible winter here. Everything in the garden is late. We'd normally see snowdrops about the third week in January but they're just out now with a few crocuses starting to bloom. We can expect a lot of flooding next.

Re: Winter 2016-17
In this part of the world, the track of the weather system makes all the difference. Three days ago, there was a possibility of a heavy snowfall last night from a system approaching from the south. As it happened it passed offshore & we had nothing. Thats a relief after last weeks 60cm,
The weekend is forecasting +7C and fog. That'll eat the snow pretty quickly! |

Re: Winter 2016-17
Its been a very dissapointing winter from a southern Ontario snowmobiler's perspective, it seems the season is already over....although it was still better than last year, that was a complete joke.:thumbdown:
