It's might be the sulfites (sulphites) in the wine. Try sulphite free wine.

I usually try to avoid them but it's damn near impossible. Gin is safer.

Small world, innit?

Why would a French gunner attack a steeple - did it look like a giant fledermaus? Or is a bat in a belfrey something different in german?

And yes, it's a small world!

He was a British gunner. My MIL married a Brit after the war.

In his defense he was given targeting instructions by a bunch of Yanks who were map-reading challenged.

Ah, now I understand your small world reference! Said MIL marries brit, goes to blighty, produces child who marries you and you go back to France and live next door to said steeple - got it!;)

And er... I really don't want to be churlish, since you were so polite to me about my er.. fledermaus er.. faux pas, but isn't defense spelled defence? Or should it be "spelt?"

Jackson Triggs Rosé...about $10...goes very nicely with a prawns and scallops meal I make. It's a nice change from Red and White and the only decent Canadian wine I've found that wasn't an Ice Wine.

Anything on the Rosemount Diamond labels...Chardonnays about $14 and Shiraz between $17 and $20.

Hardys Stamp is usually reliable for a cheapie at $11 to $14.

Oxford Landing was a favourite back in England. I've not seen it here but it must be around. Everything else I used to trink over there seems to be.:)
