There's some really quite drinkable wines for under 20 bucks.

Lavielle Ferme - Cotes de Ventoux
Both Robert Parker and Wine Spectator gave this wine an 87.
$11 in a liquor store near you.

Port and lemon - that's what the old dears used to drink at the Ram's Head when I were a young barman (young? - I was 17!
)I'd put a slice of lemon and a cherry on a stick and they'd tip me 10p!

Of course, it's only a matter of time before a certain part time Nova Scotian point outs that when I'm in Normandy I imbibe almost as vast quantities of Chateau Val de Carentan as she does.
