There's quite funny the story about the 47, as there was for the 59 Margaux and the 61 Latour, but not for the prying eyes of the internet.

OK more down to earth wines please!

There's some really quite drinkable wines for under 20 bucks.

Lavielle Ferme - Cotes de Ventoux

Both Robert Parker and Wine Spectator gave this wine an 87.

$11 in a liquor store near you.

2006 Domaine de Serame, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Pays d'Oc. About $14 @ LCBO. Goes well with a healthy Guinness Stew.

Default Re: wine!

I've been drinking this with this, and sometimes with this.

It's rather pleasant.

Nice! That's what I'm talking about!

Port and lemon - that's what the old dears used to drink at the Ram's Head when I were a young barman (young? - I was 17!)

I'd put a slice of lemon and a cherry on a stick and they'd tip me 10p!

Nope! the lanlord kept asking for my NI number and finally gave up. But I was popular with the "old dears" - they were probably younger than I am now!

Now what's your favourite wine miss field mouse?

Of course, it's only a matter of time before a certain part time Nova Scotian point outs that when I'm in Normandy I imbibe almost as vast quantities of Chateau Val de Carentan as she does.

1.50 euros a go from LeClerc.

Eat your hearts out.
