I too would take down my pants if I could get 14% of my power by wind... Then again with that much wind they might not stay on |

I'm impressed. Good for you.
Total worldwide wind turbines now produce an annual power output of about 50 billion KWh (and increasing very quickly year over year). The coal needed for power equivalent output is more than 100 million tonnes of coal per year, or about 300 million tonnes of CO2. There are far better solutions for communities to start getting involved with that are far better for the environment than solar and wind. No saying solar and wind are irrelevant but wind turbines are not all airplane propeller. And renewable energy from cleaning up waste is far better for us all, with lower setup costs. |

Both myself and my company would be very interested to know these alternative energy sources? |

I have no idea why every new build all over the world, does not require solar to be installed on the roof. I would imagine that the economies of scale would then ensure that the costs of such systems would tumble.
IF I ever build a house, (and that's probably unlikely, but you never know) I will add solar panels. And a grey water systems, and thermal wotsits, and anything else I can think of. |

I agree - I can't believe Alberta hasn't embraced this - we are forever banging on about how much sunshine we've got here - so let's use it.

Both myself and my company would be very interested to know these alternative energy sources? The power generated includes that required for the local major industry (to support jobs and income) and the power generated for residential use. Would gather Canada produces the same level of shit that Australians do:sneaky: Also using shit from animals in the region ie feeding lots etc. The new technology is 25 times more efficient than old technology. |

However what portion of that originating power generated is able to be used?

If you live in an isolated community where there's loads of shit, by all means dry it out in the sun and burn it. But I've no doubt that sooner or later some whining locals will complain about their mother in law getting the palsy from the miasma. |

Why do you set these things up as exclusive alternatives? Yes, when any generator is connected to the grid, there are transmission losses, but the figures you quoted from my earlier post are nett of these losses.

Its all self contained and provides co and tri generation, along with production of bio diesel. |

You dont know the process

All very commendable if the raw material is widely available. Excellent in fact but why imply that wind power is the wrong choice for the majority?
Oh, and feel free to explain the process. I'd be very interested. What I would expect to see is a hiearchy of technolgies used together for example: 1 Resolve waste management problems and establish for every waste source a solution that effectually generates sustainable power source. 2 Knowing or expecting that step 1 will not solve all of the power requirements add on the other renewable solutions such as wind, geothermal, solar etc. Of course I am also assuming the initial step of people conserving their energy consumption was already dealt with in step 0. Does that makes sense? |

I think wind is wrong in terms of assuming it as a base load.

Does that makes sense? A hierarchy is certainly needed. Waste management with co-generation is a valuable part of that too. |
