Well........I'm back!
I was over dressed in my suit (when I asked what I'd be expected to wear she said not as dressy as you have on
).
The interview went well - usual questions, why did you leave the UK? what do you like about here? Nothing much about previous work experience apart from do you have any customer service skills.
I got a, Well it's going to be lovely working with you, I shall just check your references out and give you a call on Thursday, so I guess it's a
I gave her a copy of the reference my lask Uk employer did for me - it made her cry
The wages seem to be fair considering it's shop work and there seems to be a lot of incentives, so if I get a positive phone call on Thursday, I'll be starting work at the end of November!

Squeezed into a suit I couldn't even do up 6 weeks ago and I have even got the dog in!
I'm still trying to figure out why you would want your dog in the suit

Mabye I should have typed INSIDE??
Henry can decide 'Nope I'm not comming in - no matter how much you chase me/play dead/play catch/offer me my favourite treats' So when I just opened the door yesterday and he came in, I was a bit surprised.
Cheers everyone for the best wishes - I appreciate it. Hubby didn't even wish me luck or even ask how it all went! Bah!

I actually thought you meant you could fit the dog inside your suit now that you have lost weight. Duh.... shouldnt there be an icon for slapping yourself on the forehead
Anyway just wanted to say well done as i didnt get to say good luck

I suited up for my interview as well and when i saw the person leaving the interview before me i wondered if i was over dressed some what
In the interview it was mainly about England and so informal i was amazed
But i got the job so all was good in the end.

Jempee - most of my interview was about the UK, my daughter, hubby - both hubbies were in the same trade but different garages and differences between schools and other non job related things - very weird.
As for my suit - I would have said it was erring on casual - which I did tell her, so 1st impressions and all that.... I will never forget the girl that came into Sears for an interview in her pyjamas. If I was the interviewer I would hire the person that could actually be bothered to get dressed
Oh and Pyjama girl got the job - at Sears if you have a pulse youget the job

That is just to funny. I just could not imagine going for an interview like that. My friend who works at a doc's office had the last girl come in for an interview in 3/4 length denim trousers, strappy top! and flipflops! friend said she looked like she was going off for a day at the beach!
The dress code here amazes me sometimes

Hmf! Well I didn't get a phone call today, so I'm guessing 'I'm looking forward to working with you.' Translates into 'You haven't got the job.':curse:
Why say they will call, when they have no intention of doing so:curse:

She may still call - have read here how laid back things are in Canada - posibility!

Not looking forward to job hunting myself - this would make me mad too!

Really mean to do that........maybe you don't want to work for people who lift your hopes and then trash them.

There will be something else for you.

Good luck
