What sucks about this forum?

All we are trying to do is open your eyes to it, and some of us (myself and Fleder for example) either already live 'rurally' or are in the process of moving rurally (my closest 'towns') will have populations of <210 and they are at least 12km away (29km between the two) with maybe 7 properties inbetween

The issue I've seen on here lately is there are too many flippant, sarcastic and nonsensical comments. Some people seem to be pathologically unable to offer anything except failed attempts at humour and jokes, when what others need is practical and supportive advice. I suspect these are the same people who were the failed class clown at school. It's not on, I for one am glad I moved to a country where this silly jesting type of interaction is not customary or acceptable.

One thing about advice here is its good for the most part. It just mostly happens on the first page of a thread. After that it turns into joking around so you just have to know when to stop reading.

I think a lot depends on the question asked and how it is presented. If one wants support and advice, perhaps asking for it rather than just appearing critical would invoke more constructive responses. A number of people on here are critical of the Canadian sense of humour, or lack thereof, but don't seem to like the British banter or attempts at humour either.

The 'minority' that control the forum? If you mean the mods (all three of them), then they post negatives as well as positives.
If you mean the more Vocal (dbd, novo, Ax, Souvy, Oak, Oink, dboy, Alan, Myself etc) I think you'll find that generally we post negatives as often as we post positives

But I probably want to move back to Britain as little as anyone. It's just my options have run out. And I know I'm unlikely to ever return. I'm as thick skinned as anyone but in a crisis here, one that I have been battling for years.

It still does me. For me I have run out of options and I'm not at all enthusiastic about moving back. It's a MASSIVE unknown and one that I could regret. But it's like a fight or flight situation. It seems the right thing to do under the circumstances. Being destitute here where I have no family and few friends and connections for me is worse than Britain where I have these. They may not be perfect but they exist.
