I for one agree with this thread. It's a great reminder / warning to those of us with 'rose tinted glasses'.
I'm looking to move to Ontario in a few years and plan on a recce next year, this thread has highlighted alot of areas that i may not have even looked for originally. I dont know where i want to live but i know that creature comforts are a habit that will be hard for me and the wife to break.
Thank you for this thread, has helped me alot.

Going to Tim Hortons on my half hour lunch break because I wanted some french onion soup( the tims version is passable). Arriving there and seeing a 20 person line up at 2pm made me want to renounce my citizenship. I fear that I will never feel settled in this place.

The line up is caused by doughnut purchasers. The sort of person who orders a dozen doughnuts, same as yesterday, and then dithers over the types, the same as yesterday. "Ooh, do I want one or two Boston Cremes?". Who the **** cares? Look at you. Obviously the doughnuts don't touch the sides as you cram them in.
Meanwhile, the rest of us, who just want coffee, have the right money and understand that in Tim Horton's we can't possibly get the type of coffee we order but will drink whatever we're given, stand waiting and wanting to spray the eyes of the people who order doughnuts with that toxic waste Horton's passes off as mustard.
