Can you get any university radio stations on your hire car radio....that may be more to your eclectic tastes.

I get Ryerson radio. A mate of mine has a show on that station on which he displays his encyclopedic knowledge of pop songs (and, my, he's good, when we worked together I'd rummage in the Guinness book of British hit singles in search of something to stump him, rarely with success).

Range is what Canada's given me; both the money to do things wot count as snob at home and the confidence not to care that I don't look the part doing them. Have a butcher's at the blog in a fortnight or so for the ultimate expression of that.

As is everything in Canada it's ~80% about iced hockey.

I habitually listen to CBC1 on the way in to work but to AM590 on the evening commute. They have a guy called Bob McCowan (Spelling? It's hard to tell on the radio) who's on from 4pm to 7pm. He's at least as amusing, well-informed about his subjects, as articulate and rude as either you or me.

I rest my case.
