I live in Northern BC so it's hard to get the food up here, I'm going to Toronto in 2 weeks my step son is going on some spelling thing what is going to be on tv all paid for so i'm hoping to try and get some fish and chips or a good pie

For a kebab Edmonton mall has got a good place we do have a sweet shop in Prince George where you can get loads of good sweets

I know what everybody means about kebabs. I used to enjoy a good donner kebab. In Vancouver they are called donair kebabs and, well, it's just not the same.

Really? You try getting a nice bit of Atlantic cod in Vancouver. They pass Ling off as cod but it not it. That said, the halibut and salmon is the bollox but I miss proper cod.

best i had was on central lonsdale at a turkish place....not bad at all, but certainly not of teh same calibre or heartburn as the uK variety.

there are a few suprises....i often used to splurge and pay a kings ransom for colemans mustard from the speciality store until i tried Keens which i found to be exactly the same and less than half the price for twice as much!

Me too. Its almost the same but I find Coleman's a little stronger but not enough to warrant the extra $3.00 a little jar.

A good curry, nothing that we have had out here comes close to what you could get back in UK. Maybe the odd pint of Black Sheep or Spitfire as well :nod:.

I have finally found a consistently v. good rubby. mahek in south surrey. The fella who owns it is a import from London....the vindaloo is as hot as anything i have had in the uk.....certainly burnt twice. But pricey but good sized portions.

Not had a decent Indian since we came here. I hate curry when you can taste the powder - don't think they've heard of spices. Proper popadoms - Tyrone had some on Coronation Street the other night, proper jealous I was :(

Try Sangam out in Mission just next to the mosque.
