Wal Mart

Talk about take comments out of context, I would not steal from my children or sell my children (well maybe sometimes) all I'm saying is that in this day and age some people cannot afford to have high morals, if you can then thats your choice, I'm mearly giving my opinion, you cannot judge people just because they decide to shop at Walmart as appose to say Atlantic or Sobey's. It really isn't your place to push your moral's onto other people who are in a less fortunate financial position to you

Surely morals are absolute. Some things one just should not do and they cannot be excused by poverty. Selling crack to children, shopping at WalMart, genocide, these types of actions are absolutely indefensible. In any case you can doubtless get your tat at prices similar to WalMarts by going to Zellers, Canadian Tire, any other craptastic retailer.

I occasionally wonder about that as I trudge through the aisles worrying about my moral lapse in going in there in the first place.

Please note that I've only once gone in (on a specific errand which thankfully resulted in no purchase). I have however parked outside and looked at the people who shop there. It's like parking on Jarvis and inspecting the hookers and homeless, revolting and yet fascinating.

Please please please spend just five minutes to find out. This article is an excellent starting point.

That's regarding the way they regard suppliers.
How they treat employees is even worse. Most walmart employees rely on welfare to make ends meet.

I was in a walmart a few weeks ago and I did a quick scan of prices of things I know the price of. The displays made them look like they could be cheaper but the numbers made it clear that they were not. So I don't even understand the 'but it's cheaper there' argument. IME, it wasn't.

I'm baffled by this "not having a choice" line of thought. What can one possibly need that's only obtainable by driving to WalMart?
