Wal Mart
Hi everyone,
I have read lots of threads re Wal Mart being really crap. Why is it so bad? They own ASDA here which is ok for everyday stuff Tina |

Re: Wal Mart
Their "go team" huddles before each shift gets me.
Otherwise, dirty stores, cheap-ass merchandise, ugly face of capatilsm etc. The list is somewhat endless. You can't spell Wal-Mart without Wart... |
Re: Wal Mart
They have pre shift huddles at ASDA too.

Re: Wal Mart
Well just for the record I like Walmart, yes it's cheaper than other stores, but I'm sorry in this day and age I think most people are out to get a bargain, there is nothing wrong with that, why pay more if you can get it cheaper in Walmart who are the stupid one's :confused:

Re: Wal Mart
My only recollections of it are that it's even more downmarket than Asda, if that's possible.
Just not a hugely pleasant shopping experience really. |
Re: Wal Mart
I found their stores depressing and chaotic and full of cheap tat.
(I'd gladly pay more to shop somewhere else) |

Read DBD website links, sure it's cheaper, but a lot of resentment stems from the way they procure their "bargain" prices.

It depends on how much sacrifice of one's moral standards one thinks can be justified by poverty. You say that because you need to get a bargain you'll go to WalMart, presumably at some other level of poverty you'll steal or sell your children. Some people won't do that, they'd rather do without some consumer durable, especially some Chinese tat item, and retain some personal dignity.
Talk about take comments out of context, I would not steal from my children or sell my children (well maybe sometimes) all I'm saying is that in this day and age some people cannot afford to have high morals, if you can then thats your choice, I'm mearly giving my opinion, you cannot judge people just because they decide to shop at Walmart as appose to say Atlantic or Sobey's. It really isn't your place to push your moral's onto other people who are in a less fortunate financial position to you |
Re: Wal Mart
Positives
Its cheap, They have reasonable inventory levels, unlike Zellers I can cash out myself and dont have to wait inline with the unwashed masses Negatives The unwashed masses Questionable business ethics Its cheap cos its crap and probably wont last Little locally made produce to be seen, its all from China (see cheap) Did I mention the business ethics suck, basically its low prices as a result of bullying and exploitation. Its the store of last resort for me. |

And ugly fat people in spandex. A visit to WalMart really is a chance to see Canada's underclass in all its pustulating glory.
