I'm not crazy about driving through the mountains in winter either, and if I have to I try to time it so I go through the high passes in daylight. The Kootenay Skyway can have blizzards right until June.

I just see how poorly they take care of the Sea to Sky in the snow and ice which isn't good.... I don't feel confident in the province and other highways...lol

Well spotted re the plane- looks too high for a local one- they often come down over the lake to land in Kelowna- I bet that is a Vancouver bound plane from maybe Tronno?

About 45-50minutes ... By plane
Car wise in good weather 4.5 hours - about 270 miles - I wouldn't bother once the temperature drops
