Using the nhs when back in the UK
#32
I can honestly say that i have never used the NHS for anything (except as a minor) and yet as a smoker and obviously as a tax payer i have paid into the heathcare more money than i would like to know without no actual service coming back to me so therefore i would use it for free if i ever went on holiday and needed it. Also yes i would use my parents address as residency just like i use it right now for my english bank accounts! The reason why i have these open is so i can pay back debts. But technically i'm not a resident in the UK so i'm not allowed bank accounts there.
All this will have contributed to the quality of your life so whether or not you turned up at the local GPs asking for a nicotine patch

You used the NHS indirectly as you lived in a society with good healthcare for all. You werent surrounded by disease. Your family will have accessed healthcare, they better health would have contributed to your well being. Public health departments. Preventative medicine. If you used private medicine then the majority of the training is done in the NHS.

There isn't, it all comes out of general taxation.
The justification set out by the recent poster is so misguided it doesn't really bear commenting on. I am just so glad I no longer have to rub shoulders with the likes of them anymore

Have you never heard of the adage: "The many pay for the few"

I sincerely hope you never get old, or sick and become one of those you quite clearly resent.

Enough people use the NHS for this very reason even if they shouldn't be entitled to it so why wouldn't you do the same thing.
What I am talking about isn't to screw up the NHS it's to do the best for my family.

But chances are lets say my wife had cancer i would need a job and live in England (for a while) therefore use the NHS legitimately right?

With that in mind i also paid for a bunch of hypocondriacs which go to the doctor for something as little as a cold. I haven't ever seen the doctor the last time I went was when i was 14 which was a staggering amount of time ago and other peoples 'health' have improved because of thier own tax deduction. In truth the NHS take more out of you than you personally will ever need. I haven't had any injections save what they gave me at birth + the measles jab when i was 10.
Sheesh, why argue with someone as selfish as you.

In fact, that's what you are doing because you are saying it's ok to behave selfishly because others abuse the system. That is why the system will fail eventually. Like taxes, it has to be the majority looking after the minority, not the other way round.
If only people behaved properly, everyone would benefit and taxes wouldn't be skyhigh.
You choose to live in a different country so take the rough with the smooth....creaming off the best from two places is just being selfish.

I still pay English taxes the reason i am saying this is because i can see that if someone was in the position i described above i would not want them to have a 'moral dilema' when most of us on here have paid enough to get the benefits. If you can save a life of your loved one by going back to England after 1 year of living elsewhere why wouldn't you?

I'm not as eloquent at putting things as most on this forum so i'll be my blunt normal self.
If you don't like the Canadian health system, stay in the UK.

Going back to collect prescriptions, register falsely with a GP, get healthcare services to suit you. Thats what you were saying.
You cant now try and take a stance of saving loved ones lives
