US step up war on ISIL

h them if you had nothing left to lose. Quite what would make a Brit join their throng, or as the other day, a group who had planned to behead an Australian in public, and were arrested mid plan, join them either is beyond me.
I cannot possibly imagine how this genie is ever going to go back into the bottle. Mass terror and brutality with religious zeal is beyond imagining.

The leaders will have to be eliminated. Their followers will have to be deprogrammed or contained (Guantanamo anyone?). Tolerance of religious extremism (radical preachers for instance) will need to reduce.
The important thing is that the genie IS put back in the bottle. The idea of "demonstration killings" is abhorrent. It feels like we have time warped back to the Middle Ages.

Maybe the world just needs to try ignoring the middle east for a while, who knows maybe it will satisfy them to leave the rest of the world alone. Doesn't seem like anyone is going to be able to win over there and bring in peace and stable government's, so why not just leave them be?

There is some merit in the argument that showing the depravity (past or future) will better inform people of the threat.

Yes the cabbie has been headline news here for quite a few days now. He has been getting strong support from the British Muslim community (as he should).

YUP, but this time, after we have killed enough to make them start at least thinking about their sickening actions, we stay there and help them to run the country, as its obvious that these savages cant control themselves or their own people.

But will the countries involved voters put up with troops being killed again?

We don't seem to have done a really great job of helping any of these people run their countries having helped them overthrow their violent dictators do we?
Now we have Qatar and the Gulf States are now blaming the West for the rise of IS.
I'm not saying we're doomed, but by gum we do seem to be in a bit of a bloody mess don't we?
