So we are watching BBC right now on our TV via the laptop, that's mirroring? But when i watch via the Asus Cube it isn't mirroring?

Don't forget that with mirroring, people change from left to right to right to left. And reading subtitles backwards is a real bugger.

It does stream TV, i watched Downton. I haven't watched any live TV yet, can't say i ever have. If you have cable then you can view all that stuff. It has Netflix. I've been viewing my photos and throwing images from my tablet to the Cube. Much fun. Now i have to find wherei threw them

I don't need to watch live tv though. The cube has Chrome so i could watch BBC live i am sure but there is no reason to do so. I like the idea of watching at times to suit me.

We sat with a drink watching the live midnight celebrations in London with Big Ben and the fireworks on UK TV.
I actually cancelled my Bell satellite service yesterday as over the Christmas break we must have watched about 2 hours worth of Canadian TV and the rest we watched was British so not paying the $80 monthly subscription for that.
I've got the in-laws still with us and the system is setup using the TV remote with no having to connect laptops, mirror from the ipad or anything and they get around it easily as it's very user friendly with just standard on screen TV Guide showing whats on now, next on all the channels and just click the TV remote to watch.
I walked into the house the other day and they were watching Corrie live from the UK .... so I walked straight to the bar and poured myself a drink

I've set it up so we can watch the US/Canadian ABC, CBS etc (free of course) as the OH likes to watch the bachelor or if there is anything on worth watching as well as all the sky sports, sky movie channels and terrestrial TV from the UK.
I said I'd never get rid of satellite until I had something that was user friendly and anyone not technically minded could work and get around easily and though I'm saying it myself - It's a pretty cool set-up.
I get all the channels below live and also have the usual catchups (ITV Player, BBC Iplayer etc) - the JSC channels are mainly sport and show everything from football to tiddly winks

We watch Live UK TV all the time on our TV's with the option of also watching on 'catch-up' TV if we want/need - best of both worlds
We sat with a drink watching the live midnight celebrations in London with Big Ben and the fireworks on UK TV.

the link I sent has XBMC pre-installed and it should be just a matter of installing a couple of free add ons (similar to apps on an iphone) if they aren't already installed - Iplayer, ITV Player, TV Guide etc.
To watch the catch up TV, you'll need a VPN so it looks like you are in the UK. However, there are a couple of live streaming add ons that will allow you to watch UK TV without the need for that (ExpatTV & NotFilmon are 2 of those add ons)
You can actually install XBMC on a PC or Laptop so you could install it on your home PC, have a play setting it up and seeing if you like it and if so buy an android box or similar to use as a standalone TV system.

I shall give that a go thanks. We are using unotelly at the minute with no problems & are experimenting with roku & plex but that is not helping us with watching uk based TV. Thanks again.

Drop me a PM if you have any questions on any of it or need a couple of useful links for the addons etc.
I've never had any problems setting it up but you never know.
Let me know how you get on.
