Line of sight to US stations could be good with the right antenna. As well, many US stations come in on the radio...including NPR.

Cobourg gets less snow than Moncton. If you are close to the lake, summer temps are likely to be ok w/o needing ac in the house. There is a train going to Toronto and Kingston. Go Train etc starts in Oshawa and I think the Go Train goes to Newcastle.

It sounds like you have the "better" bundle rather than the merely "good" that we have.
But I suppose you'd miss the HD and the Rugby League that's on SNWorld.
Streaming of football is much better than it was but it's still not as good and reliable as watching on telly.
If only football could be added to 'skinny' packages. But who expected skinny packages to be available a couple of years ago, so you never know.

Def would miss the RL

I am looking at Shaw sattelite skinny plus all tsn, sportnet and sportsnet world for $57 a month which in all honesty would suit me fine, however boss lady may insist
on adding 5 channels for an extra $15 a month as some are a two for one add ons. I looked at just having Fibre OP internet and streaming but at $85 a month it seems a bit steep.

I have Koodo mobile with 4gb of data a month. I dont really stream or download much so I think this would cover just web browsing for a month.

Currently streaming Shaw Internet, Telus cellphones. We ditched Shaw satellite, never used it and hated the commercials. We will soon be upgraded to high speed 250mbs here in town with Telus so will switch so will be paying $90 for the internet for all streaming andhome phone.
Do you stream from more than one place?

All I really understood is I could only get like 4 stations none of which are useful...lol
Assuming they could be picked up, we face the wrong direction for a direct signal, so no idea if we could actually pick anything up.

No TV, no phone, but super fast internet. It is called Shaw wideopen 150 and costs $79.99 per month on a 2 year contract.

For internet, cell phones, cable TV/Sat, why do folks get into these 2 or 3 year contract - is it really would being locked in?
My Bell (fibre to the home) on a 12 month 'price term' (no contract) cost $39.99/mth (discounted from $69.99/mth). Its 300 gb/mth usage, speed is 25 mbps down/25 mbps up, as seen using the ookla speed test.
Very soon it'll be time to call Bell (which is a pain the the rear) to try to renegotiate another deal
Why is it that folks in Canada have to get their agro wound up spending a lot of time with ISP or cable/sat providers negotiating to basically get a deal?
This time round, should Bell not come through with a continuation deal at the current price, I have decided 'all the ISP providers can screw off'. Any internet browsing that I need, I'll do at the local library when I'm passing it, for one hour or so every other day.
The internet is addictive, yet, being retired, do I really need to be on it as much as I do!
I just wont be bullied into paying for something that is way too much for what it is. Switching ISP providers also cost money, time & frustration.

We got burned here in Malta with ISP changes. ISP 1 raised my Nanu's internet by 5 Euro per month without asking him, so he cancelled and moved everything to ISP 2, signed a 2 year commitment and everything. Now, ISP 2's internet sucks, it drops off at night time, and on top of it after the 3 months they want him to pay 6 Euros more per month for faster speed. So in the end he isn't ahead and if he wants to go back to superior ISP 1 internet he has to pay a 150 EUR cancellation fee.
In Canada and here, when its anything that doesn't give me a device (cell phone) at discount in exchange for the 2 year commitment, I won't sign it. I just take the "no contract" price even if it is 10 Eur more per month. And in Canada when I negotiate I always ensure its a no contract basis. This whole debacle affirmed that belief.

We are like Gozit, no contract on Internet or home phone, we can leave when we like- in our case, once Telus Pure Fibre is up and running. On 2 year contract with Telus for the cellphones

No contracts for anything here.
Cell is no contract as well and we just have a 150 Android we bought.

Yeah, often three of us streaming at one time- it seems to work fine if you have fast enough internet
I am a little suspicious of the figures- speed test "sponsored by Shaw Communications"...this was wireless on my iPad- hard wired , my PC supposedly runs around 110mbs

I am hard wired for my two desktop computers but virtually all my wireless devices are connecting on the 5GHZ network.
I did a speed test on my iphone on 2.4 channel, consistently getting speeds of 40-60 mb/s, on the 5 channel I am now getting 150+ all the time.
I don't think it is sponsored by Shaw, it just shows Shaw as the ISP.

Top tip - I'd highly recommend that you upgrade your router or WAP to 802.11ac and set up both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, then move as much of your wireless traffic to the 5GHz side as possible. You'll have less noise, less interference, better speeds, a more stable connection, and possibly even better battery life.

Shaw are "Hosts" - maybe I'm being paranoid

Just repeated the speed test on my iPad
