I'm so used to seeing controversy over Trump, and all the shenanigans with Brexit that this Trudeau photo doesn't even register on my offended scale. It really goes to show how boring Canadian politicians are.

Exactly. I once put on heavy makeup and wore an off the shoulder dress and a rose in my hair - for a fancy dress party --- but apparently that's no longer allowed as it's 'cultural appropriation'... there was nothing bloomin racist about it, it was a bit of fun - no different than dressing up as a vampire... I've also draped myself in scarves to resemble arabian nights for parties - oh can we no longer dress in a bellydancing costume for fear of upsetting some eejit??? !!!

I am no fan Trudeau, but I don't see this as racist....its just something for offended party to get offended about. Im sorry if this post "offended" anyone. I also breathed a few times as I was writing this post....I hope that didn't offend anyone either.

Kerfuffle about not a lot in my opinion. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.. It was a while ago. Just underlines his immaturity even then, the main message to observe from this episode. I can't stand him and would love to see him out on his arse come the GE. So much more to take issue with him and his Liberal government than this.

No, that's not at all what happened. A third party alleged. Trudeau apologised at the time (it was included in the original regional newspaper editorial, I recall).The individual concerned said that she considered the matter closed, and had no intention of pursuing anything. Nobody with any knowledge of the incident classified it as a sexual assault - that is a construct that was put on it by others. Including you, it seems.
In contrast, several women have come forward and given evidence against Kavanaugh. The fact that the evidence was not considered damning enough to prevent his confirmation to the Supreme Court is fair enough; Kavanaugh, though, far from acknowledging and apologizing, has flatly denied that any such incidents took place, despite a growing body of evidence that he is lying through his teeth. Evidence that may not stand up to the burden of proof in a criminal case, but that certainly doesn't pass the smell test.
