It was a reference to the Anfiled trophy room in general.

Seems a reasonable question? I support Liverpool because thats where I lived at the time I first got interested in footy, although it could have been Tranmere I suppose.
I find it intriguing how many people seem to have to travel further for a man U home game than an away one, although I don't pretend to understand the significance.
My suspicion is that like Newcastle, Liverpool would still get 30, 40k plus to watch them play if they went down, but that Man U might not have quite the same level of red to the bone support? Could be wrong though.

Jeepers, its so funny when a real football fan of a real football team reads so much trash by plastic fans.

My dad's bigger than yours..

Personally I would love to wind back time to 20 years ago, when there was competition, instead of the Sky 'moneycow' inspired trash we see nowadays.
I remember ManUre in Division 2!! as were Newcastle and Chelski, Man City in Division 3, Wolves in Division 4!!
I see they are playing their 'money grabbing protectionism' games again now too!! Seeing Leeds 2007 drop to the 3rd Division, weighted down with debts from the failure of getting the TV money they gambled everything on.
With City gaining an endless pocket like Chelski one of the 'big' 4 will lose out and that will mean a long sharp fall, so the creation of an 'invitation only' Premier 2 will effectively close that trap door.
As if we cannot see what they are doing!!!
ManUre was the driving force for the Premiership, for that I will hate them with fury til the end of time, even when they have gone bust.
Even before they stole all the money they always an advantage over the smaller clubs, but they just couldn't stand the likes of Ipswich etc occasionally winning and taking some cash from them.
The Premiership and the Champions League effectively ended the dreams of thousands and thousands of real supporters, dreams of minor success, to get that management team that would give us some success before being courted by a bigger team.
And now all you plastic fans argue about who stole the most from the rest of us!!!

Explain, why you are any more of a real fan than the other posters.
Also with some of your bitterness and talk of "Hate them always"
you may need to get out more
hope this helps.

I bet us unreal fans pay waaaaay more to follow our plastic teams in the flesh.
He makes a valid point about the way TV money has altered the landscape, but sadly its lost in the vitreol.
However, to argue the standard of the game was better 20 years ago is lunacy. The game now is so much faster and generally skills are on a different plane. Much as I enjoy watching Hanson Dalgleish Barnes and Beardsley stroking the ball around into the net while Souness and Case stamp on anyone that has the temerity to take the ball for the opposition, they would be blown off the park by the pace and general skill on display now...not that they would not have adapted and excelled, but its a different style from a bygone age

TV money has changed the landscape but in terms of teams going bust it hasn't. THe teams in the lower leagues have been struggling for decades in terms of balancing the books. When the lower leagues were reorganised a few years ago into the Championship, etc the Football League bottled it as they should have regionalised Div 2 and merged the regionalised leagues with the Blue Square Prem.

For me it was the team closest to were I was living at an impressionable age (7 yrs old). Gone are the days when people are born, live and die in one town we have a much more mobile population.
To me though, once you choose your team you cannot change............now that is a plastic fan!
