On The Score this morning they replayed Newcastle vs Sheffield Wednesday in 2000 (?) - Bobby Robson's first home game in charge. Final score 8 - 0 with Shearer getting 5.

Happy daze ...

If they'd have brought Shearer on instead of Viduka they might have got a point.

Keep the faith Jonyboy, they've been down before. And there's still an outside chance to stay up this year.

I don't wish the fizzy cup Championship on anybody, but the thought of seeing Shearer go down does give me some hope in life.

Three home games against middling opposition, middelsborough and hull in free fall. I still dont think NUFC are going down, even though it doesnt look great right now...

Cheer up mate it could be worse.

I'm not sure how much worse, but it could be.

I'd still like to try and get 3rd in the league, so does Wenger. It's not impossible.

As a liverpool fan I can tell you there's no difference between 3rd/4th/5th...they all get you in the champs league

Actually no. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gets automatic CL this season, 4th gets pre-qualification against another European team in the same position (loser goes into UEFA Cup (Europa League as it's going to be named from next season, and involving Far East teams and the old Intertoto Cup teams), and 5th and 6th gets automatic into the Europa League as well. The FA Cup winners also get a place in this.

Liverpool only got into CL in 5th place as UEFA didn't like the bad publicity of the CL holders failing to qualify for the following season.
