Celtic manager, Tony Mowbray, was bleating to the Press afterwards about how they had lost a game he felt they had dominated. “I felt there was a huge gulf in quality and class between the two teams, yet they scored from two set plays.” he moaned.

When Dundee United manager Craig Levein was told of Mowbray's remarks, he replied, “I didn’t think we were that much better than them. That’s doing Celtic an injustice."

How sporting. Maybe I should leave the "English" league to the Russian gangsters, bickering American businessmen and Saudi princes.

Seriously, the SPL is going to be a cracker this year - tightest race in years.... the Old Firm cacking themselves at genuine competition. How exciting is the EPL for 15 of the 20 teams in it this year?

I'll wager what you want that either Rangers or Celtic win the SPL.

Would someone who cares remind me who was that Russian gangster running the scottish team that was firing coaches for not including the players he wanted... some "high profile" casualties (within the limited definition of "high profile" that the Scottish game allows )

At the risk of expressing an interest Ive a feeling it was either Hearts or Hibs...

EPL was terrifyingly exciting for about 10 teams still with a chance of relegation at the end of last year...There is a lot more money at stake at the bottom end of the premiership than the SPL.

Talking of which, the Toon are back up into 21st in the Prem after beating Preston just now.

God no, of course I'm not comparing the SPL to the EPL. The bottom of the SPL is not far off part-time status.

I'm just chuffed to bits because this year, Celtic & Rangers are very publicly being humiliated at home as well as in Europe. It's like the playground bullies getting a bloody nose from the specky kid and the ginger kid.

You have no idea how wonderful it feels to see Old Firm supporters struggling to accept the idea that their team might actually lose to mere provincial teams. Like spoilt kids having their toys taken away, they'll be calling for managerial heads before long.
