I think part of the attraction for expats is the illusion of "integrating with the local community" by eating what the locals eat. At least I think that's it as I can't think of any other reason to eat the crap they pass off as food there.

Only had it twice as I don't tend to go there from one week to the next. Had to try it though and it wasn't bad enough. There's some sort of fake egg on the top

Re: Tim Hortons Drive Thru?
There is always a huge line at Timmies at Cross Iron Mills, walk 2 minutes and you can get a pretty decent coffee at Second Cup, plus their cakes are really nice. I have to say if we want that whole coffee house experience Starbucks wins hands down, though Good Earth has recently opened in Airdrie now and is quite good, a bit like Costa.
BTW on the morning of the Calgary Stampede Parade my 8 year counted 100 plus people in the line at a downtown Timmies, honest:rofl: But I still love the donuts!;) |

I only have one thing to say about Timmies

That's more of a reflection of truck drivers in Alberta than the quality of coffee served in Tim Hortons.

Re: Tim Hortons Drive Thru?
i was once in Tim's when a guy ordered a large coffee with 6 cream and 4 sugar - can't have been much room for the coffee!

Re: Tim Hortons Drive Thru?
Every time we pass Tim Hortons in our local town I have never seen the place without an ample queue of cars outside the place. We went once whilst on our recce last year (naive I know), both the staff and the coffee were miserable however the doughnuts were quite colourful.

Re: Tim Hortons Drive Thru?
It's all about the donuts. If you're in a donut frame of mind ever, it's a good enough pit-stop. What's with this daft expectation/disappointment that it doesn't deliver better coffee or food? It's like saying: "MacDs - their range of salads is disappointing."
