I have had conversation with people that are shocked to find out that we have to go through all that you described above. Yes I went through all that, and more for my current job. I now carry a clearance higher than most Canadians, and passports to go with it (Red and Green)

You missed the humour in that.....surely not everyone coming to the UK is coming in illegally, anyone with half a brain knows that. I am amazed at the amount of people that can't distinguish between "refugees" and "applicant immigrants", even in this country.
