The question came over as rather a rhetorical and hackneyed one but as you don't live here I will assume sincerity.

I very much doubt that was my first mistake in life. Still, I think it's probably true that there are more firearms per capita in Canada than in the US. There are great chunks of the US where firearms are banned completely and none, that I know of, in Canada.

I bet he wished Amex didn't allow gambling.

I bet he wished he hadn't let his Amex to his son more.

$300k - who has that sort of limit on their credit card anyway? (or is Amex different)

Washington DC for a start.

NYC is close, there is such a thing as a permit but no one can get one.

Dodgy, though, if you don't use them for a few months, or do something out of the norm. I had that problem recently.

I believe they have either repealed or are going to repeal the DC ban as its was deemed unconstitutional.

When I lived there most people just got their guns from Virginia.

You've just reminded me... when I started work - in 1989, lest anyone think it was the 70s - some of the more senior guys used to get Luncheon Vouchers. They were insanely jealous of that perk. Do LVs still exist?

Not a problem for me. I don't suppose there's been a day in the past fifteen years when I didn't use the Amex.
