Well obviously.
I have two pairs of Docs. One cherry, for casual wear, and one black, for formal wear. Similarly, I have four pairs of Crocs: slippers, DIY, formal and plastic (bought for the beach). Souvette has two pairs of Docs. One black patent and other floral. She is older than me. Then again, she goes to work in bright yellow tights with smiley faces on them (not sure what the generals make of that!). |

I have a reasonable number of pairs for different circumstances. She has an Imelda Marcos-style collection and most of them look the bloody same. |

Shoes are expensive here. Unless it's for a special occasion, I usually only buy a couple pairs of dress/work shoes a year. It's with trainers where I tend to blow the budget. :(

Re: Things that make you feel old
About 3-4 years back, OH had to go to a clinic for some minor surgery, in and out the same day, in for about 6 hours. I stayed with her until she was collected from reception by the admissions nurse then set off back home.
She later told me that the nurse had said "If you give me your father's 'phone number, I'll call him when you are ready to be discharged". :( |

Re: Things that make you feel old
This week someone sent me a friend request. I didn't recognize the name but there aren't that many people who reference that Bald Faced Stag in their facebook profiles so I thought I must know her and accepted. Then I realized, she's my young cousin who puts it about, a looker, it wouldn't be kosher really but I'd go there.
And then I chatted with her and she was proud of her grandchildren. |
Re: Things that make you feel old
My wife was caught speeding thru' a small town in Nevada in our Canadian minivan with its metric speedo. The policeman asked if she mistook Kms for Mph and she said 'No sir! but my father here is unwell and I'm looking for a clinic". I was still asleep/snoring strapped into the recliner in the back of the minivan.
The policeman then directed her to the nearest 24/7 clinic where she spun around.... then left town. She told me of her devious trick later...and wondered why I wasn't amused. |

There will obviously be additional costs... JCP wouldn't let me ship internationally, so I had to resort to using my US reship delivery address, and they'll take it from there, shipping costs as yet unknown. Feedback will be provided as and when. :fingerscrossed: And I still don't yet know what the shipping costs will be. |

Re: Things that make you feel old
Can't seem to locate the DVD, but that's hardly surprising as I'm the victim of what the female contingent in this place have termed 'tidying up'.
Good grief, we are MONTHS away from moving, and yet things continue to disappear on a daily basis. If I question the current location of just about anything, I get met with a shrug and a response of 'probably in a box in the garage'. It's doing my head in, but maybe it's just a way to stop me banging on about the destruction in the park a few metres away. Bloody well better be... |

And I still don't yet know what the shipping costs will be. Handling and shipping costs were quite a bit up on Siouxie's guestimate, but I'll wait until the dust settles and all the credit card bills are in before doing the final reckoning. Not that I would have found those sizes, cuts and colours here anyway, so I'm pretty sure that I'll be coming out a winner. ;) |

One thing that makes me feel old is work.... Nearly everyone I work with is under 25. My body makes me feel old too, it's not a happy camper with physical labor, and appears to be slowly falling apart, back aches, elbows always hurt, and since December something causing my heel of my foot to hurt causing me to limp most of the time and putting more weight on my left side causing my left knee to hurt as a result. If only there was an office job that could pay the same as I make.... |

Near the time of the photo (last run) I drove this train from our station to either the elevator or the section house, can't remember which, perched on the engineer's lap.

Even in the 80's when I cranked up the gramophone to play jazz records in the club some people would spend a lot of time looking for wires and volume controls, amazed that it made music through arm-strong power.
