It's from the Ami and reported to be very much like that of the 2CV, Citroens are all the rage at the auction site lately, ID19, 2CV, the parachutable thing and now this:

That is a beautiful looking car...unfortunately it is 'automatique'..did they make it in 'manual'.

Here was a standard US car in that era..I'm sure with the rear seats facing the back window

Yes, they came in manual and the European ones also had swivelling head lights like the DS. There are a few still around, I see one in Guelph from time to time.

I wouldn't say that's the most attractive giant piece of Americana I've seen but I expect it had one of those neat electric gate windows so you could lower it and let the exhaust fumes lull the kids in the back to sleep.

Yes, for four or five years. 1987 model, same colour as that one. The Young American's stepfather had had it from new and donated it to us. We drove it back from Colorado achieving 14mpg on the best stretch, 8 overall. The great thing with it was that driving across a ploughed field was just like driving on the road. It was kind of a negative 2CV in that regard; it made all roads seem like ploughed fields. We never took the Colorado plates off so the insurance was 10% of that for the cars with Ontario plates, that balanced the fuel consumption.

Just been debating how old Marie Osmond is as she’s doing a commercial for Nutrisystem.

She’s 58! We decided she looked young and that because we’re getting old(er) “old” people don’t look as old as they used to!

Also because she looked old from the beginning. She seems to be made of some sort of single use non-decaying plastic, if she sat on a Mormon sofa you wouldn't be able to tell where the cover ended and Marie began.

Rich people usually look better than the hoi polloi when they get older, especially rich people in show business.
