I am of the opinion that teens are great with all other adults except people in authority....their parents and the odd teachers getting the brunt of the hormone fuelled displeasure. The rest of humanity look on and say what great kids they are, such a credit to you.....

Just try and remember, it was once you that acted like that, when they want something they return to how you used to know them, after they have what they want they go back to being Pillocks again, nature at its best .😄

Are they really all like that? Anybody heard tales of relatively pleasant (or at least non-confrontational) teenagers. They must exist. Mind you, I suppose there is plenty of body chemistry changing at the time. Truly dreading it, childhood has been tough enough,

Also this. I wonder if my 13 yr old's homeroom teacher has him confused with someone else.

If it's any consolation I've seen a few children of friends throw the most amazing hissy fits and strops. Really quite spectacular tantrums and selfish demands and it seems to me that the worse they were the kinder and more considerate adult they became.

Once they go to university and realise that its a big bad world out there and they are responsible for paying for their food, alcohol and socializing - then the transformations should start to slowly appear...plus if they want that extra alllowance from you then won't have any choice but to be nice lol

It because they get to an age when they realize that most adults, especially those who wield authority over them, are completely full of shit and making stuff up as they go along. Coupled with the frightening realization that they may end up like those people, becoming ugly, fat, bald or riddled with cancer and living desperately dull and meaningless lives.

Teenagers should be shot at birth, and buried deep-down up the back-40.

Except, of course, when it's handy to have one around to sort out modern technology.

(Sorry . They do, eventually, reintegrate the human race).

I'm sorry but I don't think just being an ex-teenager yourself gives you any insight at all into the horror of having teenaged children of your own.

That's just possibly a bit harsh.

I think a more moderate position would be to advocate their incarceration in, oh, perhaps Guantanomo from about 13 to 18 and a bit.

Possibly.

Depending on the day of the week, I do sometimes accept plea-bargains for your suggestion ...

No, they aren't all like that... It coincides with what Yorkiechef said below and what Oink said, although put in a less err blunt fashion.

You can find teens that aren't "like that" but its hard to. I would explain but I won't.
