Really must get some mint sauce before we have the next one. It was a late decision as stepdaughter came home with two more to add to the others in the freezer - it's been cheap, we stocked up.

I left one in the fridge for today but nobody had been to anywhere to get some mint.

Can you not grow your own? It's a devil to keep in check but you'll never be without mint sauce again, it's good with hummus as well- the leaves not the sauce.

Grow some indoors?

My stepdaughter is the green fingered one and she did grow some. I even made some once but it went off after first use.

Admittedly that was when Lamb was ridiculously expensive and I wasn't really buying it, other than a rare small piece near it's best before date. Plus only two of us ate it then and now four of us do.

There have been a fair few reductions lately though and we got a bit carried away. :o

Stepdaughter just came home from work. Without looking at her as she appeared behind me, I held my hand out over my shoulder.

Why do you have your hand out she asks. I was expecting you to put something in it, says I.

One jar of mint sauce.

I just knew she'd come back with one.

I've never had much luck with plants in this house but I suppose it's possible. My avid gardening friends never have indoor herbs growing, I wonder why?

Last night I dined on touski.

Great word, that. It's a contraction of "tout ce qui reste". Leftovers, in other words.

We're having a loud diner tonight. SLAM!

Shopping last week I bought a jar of mint sauce, completely forgetting my stepdaughter came home with one a couple of weeks earlier. So we have lots to use up now.

Hence today's roast.

It was magnificent and even more so when I added the mint sauce. I don't think I've had better lamb.

Looks amazing! In accordance with Canada's Food Guide I'm having something from the burger group, something from the fries group and something from the beer group. Missing (obviously) something from the excessively sweet group.

Baked chicken leg with bbq sauce (gochujiang paste, hoisin, soy, hot wing sauce), sweet potato fries with garlic mayo and peas.
