Oh no. I was a pretty mean left arm slow medium-pace bowler along the lines of Derek Underwood. Except I bamboozled the batsmen by taking a very leisurely three or four step run up, over the wicket, and then whipping it through. It surprised a lot of them and I got a lot of LBWs.
Once.
Once.

This is pathetic. England number one test side in the world? Don't make me laugh, too much. Up your mum's bottom.

Is there an active Cricket scene on Vancouver Island? Looking to live somewhere near Colwood and I am a minor counties umpire here so I would be looking to do some officiating over there.

It's also rather jolly venue to watch with the North Shore mountains behind the bowlers arm and cruise ships sailing past long off....

Can't comment on cricket on the island, but I did spend a wonderful afternoon watching 2 matches at the Brockton Oval in Stanley Park. The Don described it at the best venue in the world to play cricket when he played there.
