Sounds like they're jumping on it with both feet. If they can put that one out right away then it won't take up any resources needed for the next one. We've had hazy skies in Sask. and there's only 3 fires burning (I think) so it's probably coming from Alberta. It's going to be a lot worse if we don't get some real rain. The danger of grass fires is a real thing here now, not to mention a lot of farmers seeded dry and need rain for germination.

Who'd of thought you'd hear a Brit ask for rain?
I hear what you are saying about grass fires, all it takes is some dry lightning and the whole lot goes up.

Wow, already?? sounds pretty bad, and in dire need of rain that side of the country....its been pretty rainy here in southern ON. First warm day today...but still rained last night and this morning.....its certainly better than fires!

Probably the warmest day we have had in Vancouver this year.
79F (26C) currently at Vancouver airport which is right on the water, so the city is likely a tad warmer.
Inside the apartment showing 79.3F
No a/c this summer, if its warm like this all summer, its going to be a very long summer.

Yesterday was our first 'decent' day of sunshine, blue sky and warmth.. it reached the lofty heights of 28c ... rain and cooler temperatures are coming back

Crazy, but not really unusual. I did a little searching and some years it happens in June, some in July, sometimes in October... According to the weather radar it formed just east of the old #1 around Merrit and appears to be breaking up as it continues SE. The highway cams in the south are all clear.

Been nice in Vancouver the last couple of days. Mostly sunny, highs in the 20-22 range, not cold, not hot just right. Today is very windy.
Rain in the forecast for early next week, which we need.

This storm from BC picked up and is still going. It made me laugh a little; people move here and we tell them winter can be harsh, and if you're in some areas watch out for bears/ wolves/ lions, etc, but Thunder Snow has a new menacing ring to it.

The Farm Progress Show is on now (40,000 will attend), and the rain a lot of them have been praying for has just started to fall.

Our cool summer has gotten warm today.....I hope it doesn't stick around. Too warm to do anything. No a/c but have been sitting in front of the fan, even the dog isn't liking it.
Our neighbor has this large dog with thick coat, he took her to work today, his apartment faces south so a little roasting oven those apartments become in the heat.
83F currently at the airport which is on the water so warmer as you go away from the water. Humidex of 90F

It's been really humid in Vancouver the last couple of days, around Noon it was only around 20 but the humidex was closer to 27, now its 18 with 84% humidity.

We may be in for sum rough weather this weekend. The guy on the radio was suggesting the downgrading of Dorian by the time it gets here may not be downgraded as much as usual but may also be strengthened by another system on the way from the great lakes.
