Had some canned PC chicken noodle soup the other day, half a can. Way too salty for my liking.

To be repeated.
Sounds great! Might just try that shortly.

Just done a "makey-upper" tonight, using up things in the fridge...

2 leeks, 4 onions, 4 carrots, 1/4 a celeriac, 4 cloves garlic. A kettleful of stock from cubes (veggie & beef). Small carton tomato passata. 1/4 bag of pearl barley.
Salt, pepper, chilli, soy sauce, mixed herbs. Got some fresh parsley to chop and add too.

A variation on minestrone I suppose. Still simmering now, will just adjust the seasonings but rather pleased with it. The soy gives a nice depth I think (would have used Worcestershire but haven't got any).

Quite like the Campbell’s Gourmet Line in the tetra-pacs. My wife makes a “to die for” Scotch Broth.

I had batch two of the leek and stilton last night, glad that I saw this post beforehand, as a tsp of Worcester Sauce brought it on very well.

One batch to go later on in the week, I'll try pimping that one with soy sauce.

Just finished up batch 3 of the leek and stilton, this time boosted with soy sauce instead of worcestershire sauce, and on balance the soy sauce worked better.
