This mornings overnight low of -16°C beats all to hell the old record of -13.3°C set way back in 1928.:frown:

I should have kept my mouth shut - we've got snow forecast for NS tomorrow night:eek:

On a positive note: Could mean a good start to the ski season - they're already making snow at Nakiska and COP

Are your guys doing any ski-clubs out there this year?

Nakiska are optomistically hoping for opening on 7th Nov.

Ha ha, yes we've been checking regularly. Went to pick up our passes last weekend and the girl told us about the planned opening, I have been getting a tad over excited since then. Lake Louise also planning a Nov. 6th opening. Keep that snow coming.

Haven't thought too much about the ski clubs - we're at Lake Louise between Christmas and New Year and thought we'd put the kids into the three day block lessons they do there (they did that last year and really liked it).

Would you recommend the Nakiska ski clubs?

Don't know whether I recommend them- we are umming and erring about putting C in one this year. He has now decided he wants to join one- but its 14 weeks at Nakiska plus a new helmet as his nearly brand new one isn't race regulation.

What is good and worth doing are the six week (one 2hr session per weekend) lessons for the kiddies at Nakiska

We are revving up for the season , Sun Peaks for New Year, Fernie for family day and we can't quite decide about spring break- considering back to Silver Star or Big White, or down to Whitefish or Silver mountain in US. Will probably fit a weekend at Panorama and Kicking Horse. Can really really recommend Emerald Lake Lodge booked through RCR. This has a very high rack rate and we got rooms for $110 last season. It was a really special place to stay.
