Steph: If you're looking for places to rent try craigslist: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/

You'll find that property rental companys are somewhat more expensive than privately owned properties. You will find a mix of criaglist. You can find some very nice places, even in Kits, that don't cost too much but you have to do a bit of foot work and be prepared to say yes on the spot if you find a bargain.

You can google to find job agencies here, come along to some of my Brit Group events (http://www.meetup.com/BritishExpat/) and network too. There a few social/business networking groups around like the minglers (http://www.minglers.ca/). I work for the credit union system here, so if anyone wants a job I'll be happy to pass on any relevant vacancies.

Next official meeting is on the 18th for the Bond flick and then on the 29th at the Sylvia hotel (not a bad place to stay Steph for a few nights).
