Was quite excited at the prospect of waking up to snow this morning, its David's 14th birthday and I had thought we could spend time making a snowman

Not a snowflake in sight

The house taken this evening notice the snow banks on either side of the drive!

Well I checked out the local stores for a snowblower and after two sales people chuckling to themselves I decided to try at the weekend when some may have arrived after the rush that came BEFORE the snow storm hit

I didn't listen properly as I was too busy pointing out to OH about the photos on here and saying that a 4 cm layer of snow cannot really be called a drift!

What a lovely and cosy looking house you have! You should try and get at least one of those cars in the garage though!

It is fantastic to be able to drive my car out of the garage in the morning - no scrapping and chisling off ice I would certainly put it down as a 'must have' for a new house in Nova Scotia.

It's freeeezing here today. -11C with a windchill bringing it down to -19C at 6pm. Some light snow blowing around like talcum powder. I was out this afternoon and the air was full of sparkles which I presume were either tiny snowflake crystals blowing around or frozen dust. The sun lit them up like diamonds. It was fab to see (then I ran into the mall cos it was baltic )

I think there will be lots of snow clearing to be done over the some weeks/months. There hasn't been a decent snowfall here for years according to the locals

Not so (Thousands trapped in snow storm)...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/2713685.stm

Parts of London ground to a halt also....when I saw the pic's on TV I thought there must be at least a centimeter on the M11! In Farnborough there was enough for a snowman...if you rolled up all the snow in our cul-de-sac!!

So by those standards you can have a 4 cm drift.

4 inches, yes, I'd agree but they were saying 4 cm! But I suppose it is like flooding, the 1st inch is the worst!
