Sled dogs culled :(

So your comparision is as pointless and off topic as my 'jumping all over it?' Or they are both as relevant.
To the original story, ghastly as it is, I have to echo dbd33's question: 'What does one do with 100 semi-wild sled dogs that have outlived their usefulness?' Rehome them? To whom?

Couldn't they have just released them into the wild? Lots of space in stanley park - they could have put a couple there.

The lack of humility on here staggers me, these are beautiful harmless animals, killed for no reason at all. DBD33 do your reasearch, sled dogs are about as viscious as you are, I own 3 Huskies myself and have been around other peoples Huskies for years, they don't have a viscious bone in their bodies but ignorant people such as yourself make uneducated statements probably due to their likeness to Wolves.
Yes its no different to what happens to other animals around the world once their usefulness has been fulfilled, it doesn't make it right.
This is by far the thread which peoples reactions have sickened me to my stomach the most!!!!!!!!

I haven't said that it is right. I have however executed several dozen animals when at a loss for anything else to do with them and so take a nuanced view.

I didn't say they were vicious. I do say that they'll be trained only to run, accustomed to a hard life and so unsuitable for use as pets except in the most remote locations. I don't see that 100 backwoods trappers are going to appear each wanting a dog.
Sled dogs are born to run and would doubtless not consider it a hard life, again research what you are spouting about, and you said fierce, not vicious, ok, same difference!!

We're all viscous when boiled up in a stew.
