Re: Shipping Rant!!!!!
Unfortunately there seems to be more bad stories than the good ones

Well, don't be worried!
It is well known that people who have a horror story are much more likely to tell it than those who had a good one.
To redress the balance a bit, look at some of the other threads on this topic and be heartened that we received our 20ft container with everything fine.
I packed all the smaller things (ornaments, jewellery boxes, stereo equipment, clothes) myself, but they collected all the stuff, including two large mirrors and a glass table top, from storage where I had put it all as I needed to declutter and prepare the house to sell.
They wrapped, packed, shipped and delivered and unwrapped all the furniture things at the other end and not one thing was damaged, lost or broken - not the stuff I had packed nor any of the furniture.
They were also quicker than expected.
We used White and Co and would recommend them to anyone.

Please don't be too Worried...... We have huge issues with gb liners but the previous poster is correct in saying people with bad experiences shout louder than those who's moves have gone smoothly......... At the end of day it's just belongings and we will hopefully get most of it sorted through the insurance ... The main thing for us is that we are here in Canada and making do and mending lol..... Kids are happy, we are happy and it's not raining..... What's not to like?

Not sure who the britvic lot are?....... We are in Gordonhead which is lovely... And you are so right about the stuff..... They have lost parts of all of our beds....one from each bit...destroyed two cot mattress and lots parts from each cot, my husbands specialist bicycle is missing along with the front wheel from mine we brought 6 expedit units with us (5 kids so loads of storage needed lol) and not one is whole, our 8 seat dining table has been caved in in all 4 corners and three leather seats torn, my stokke pram has been broken, large pictures (Colin prior prints in oak frames) lost and both my husbands motorcycles need replacement farings and resprayed...... And this is just the tip of the iceberg!!!..... Needless to say we would not recommend GB liners ...hope your stuff faired a wee bit better .....

Re: Shipping Rant!!!!!
I sent my shipment off in a 45 cube container six weeks ago, as that way it would arrive the day OH had taken time off to come and meet it. That was till the bloody vessel broke down in Antwerp. It is due to limp into Halifax shortly now, but my husband has shoved off back to work for another month. I only hope nothing is on the missing list. I've given up planning anything, as it seems to be the kiss of death. One day we will look back on this period with amused smiles...but I'm not ready right now.
