Thought i'd subscribe to this thread, on my last year countdown until i move so aiming to not a miss a game home or away before i leave.

Congrats to the Arabs...still in shock over the Ross County semi final

There was some size of UTD support there yesterday and it well and truly showed up the english final in terms of Pitch, entertainment, goals and how to celebrate.

Just goes to show if Utd, hibs , Aberdeen got a bit of success it would be a great league...oh for the 80's fitba again....90's are best forgotten

Soreshins, I'm not in Calgary all the time -I spend about 3 months a year here (on and off), but i'll log in next time i'm here to grab a game and a beer. Whenever Utd are playing one of the old firm the game is shown at each of there supporters club's pubs - Peanuts for Celtic and Drum and monkey for rangers.

That's been on the go for the last couple of weeks.
It's rumoured Lennon will be offered the job by the weekend.

Well, the summer has flown by... Celtic are already out of the Champion's League, so it must be nearly time for the SPL to kick off!!

Yes, AEK Athens will be a very tough team to beat over 2 legs, but you never know...

I think they finished 4th in the Greek league, which is probably not that much different of a standard from the SPL.

Hopefully a cold and dreich August night in Dundee will work to our advantage!

Don't know if any of you guys are following Dundee United's jaunt into Europe - it will be over tomorrow, I'm sure...!

Anyway, we are away to AEK Athens tomorrow night, chasing a 1-0 deficit from the first leg. On Tuesday, UEFA declared AEK's pitch to be unplayable, so the venue was switched to another Athens club, Panionos.

On hearing this yesterday, the Panionos fans were outraged, and last night about 150 of them broke into their own ground, dug up their own pitch, and set fire to part of their own stands - simply so that AEK couldn't play there!!

Game now switched to Olympiakos' ground, with no AEK fans allowed in.

You couldn't make it up.

It's a big ask for Dundee Utd tomorrow, but fingers crossed

Oh well, United gave AEK a game of it in the end. 1-1 on the night, 2-1 to AEK on aggregate.

Right, that's the European distractions oot the road... shake ourselves down and get on with improving perfomances in the league!

Good start for Aberdeen this year... is McGoo on a roll...?

Respectable score for Utd...unlike Celtic getting pumped
Maybe we'll just focus on the league cup this year
