Ripoff beer prices

Just listening to Smooth Radio out of the UK online and they're running an ad. about a case of 30 Carlsberg for 14 quid. What's that, 20 bucks?

Here, in the Sobey's Liquor flyer they're charging $38 for a 24-pack of that Kokanee gnat's pi$$.

Are we being majorly ripped, or what?

Welcome to Canada eh. When was the last time you bought any cheese?
Insured your car lately or got a new cell phone contract?
Hey at least gas (petrol) is cheaper.

The only saving grace eh!

Add to the list of expensive items is 'property tax', whether you pay it through home ownership or its in with the rent you pay recouped by your landlord.

The UK other than the price of petrol does appear to be a tad cheaper cost of living & of course cheap hols & flights to the continent

Canada is not the place to be if you want low prices.

Having come from the US the
only thing I find less expensive is Healthcare.

It's why living near the border is essential to some people.

Booze is a rip off and not worth buying.

As someone who's life was devastated by an English drunk driver, I'm happy when it's expensive and not sold in corner shops. I believe it should be zero tolerance for drinking and driving.

But what has that to do with the price of fish or even beer? And who's is incorrect.

Edit: This http://britishexpats.com/forum/maple...ovince-705589/ is quite an old thread but of enduring interest to Canadian beer drinkers.

Depends on price per litre doesn't it. Kronenbourg is currently going for around £1.90 litre on special.

Err... From that last set of stats I looked at Drink driving is much worse in Canada

Price and availability isn’t a critcal factor in drink driving,

The statistics of each country are irrelevant. People are being maimed and killed in both jurisdictions and zero tolerance is essential if any reductions in deaths and injuries is to be attained.
