Silly goose Alaska in my terms = Alaska Airlines
My dad and step mom have considered the idea of moving to Alaska, but I don't know if they ever would.......but if they lived in the tail of Alaska there are ferry options...
If I were independently wealthy, I always liked Stewart, BC, next to Hyder Alaska, both look like rather interesting although remote places.
Cheaper houses too, although very little for sale.

They have Alaska Permanent Fund which pays Alaska residents an annual payment from oil revenues the state collects, the fund is currently worth about $64 billion.
The dividends paid are not huge amounts, but at least it's something.

California Highway Patrol arrested 2 people on scene who collected money, but left their keys in the ignition and locked themselves out of their car. CHP and FBI are reviewing video footage to identify others, the driver of the truck initially tried to collect the money but obviously futile on their part, so they began to record instead, so a lot of people are on video. Federal charges likely coming for people who stopped to collect money, CHP is asking people to return the money, although there is a probability one will be arrested when they return the money, but probably looks better in court and plea deal if you returned it rather than keep it until the FBI tracks you down.
Only way I could see anyone getting away with this is if they happened to prepare in advance for the off chance it would happen, and installed a vacuum device under the car in an area not readily visible that would vacuum the money into the trunk.
This photo from reddit on another unrelated matter, where do people come up with these crazy ideas?

Only free if police don't find you, but these days with everyone on IG or tik tok making videos of it, police have an even easier job...lol

Looks like it was mostly bundles of $20's and $1s, each bundle of $20 bills is $2,000 total, where $1 bundles is $100 per bundle.

I was browsing amazon for fun and was looking at reviews on an electric grill, when I stumbled across a 2* with the title of " Unit gets hot enough to burn skin."
I would certainly hope so, it is an electric grill meant to cook raw meat to a save tempreture for human consumption, so yes like most cooking devices it will get hot enough to burn skin.

Been watching Family Law a new Canadian TV show on global on demand, and its filmed in Vancouver, and it's weird seeing Vancouver play Vancouver, still throws me off when the characters mention actual Vancouver area names...

This tweet from CBSA: Given the situation in BC, travellers and essential workers who must travel to or through the USA for essential reasons (food, fuel, supply chains) are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements. These exemptions do not apply to non-essential travel.
But then people who went for food and gas to the US, upon return to Canada, some were fined or told to go get a PCR test in Bellingham first which then led to the labs in Bellingham being overwhelmed, and CBSA at one crossing set up a pre-departure mini check point to advise people if their trip would be deemed essential or non-essential before they left Canada.
It was confusion all around at the border yesterday it seems.
I don't know why the government chose November 30th to end PCR testing via land for short trips and just didn't make it take effect right away, what difference does a week make?

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
south Indian cinema wars have erupted again in Canada apparently, distributors of the films beleive a group of independent cinemas are behind in an attempt to corner the market, that company denies the accusations.
Most recent incident involves South Indian crime thriller Kurup & Cineplex in Ontario that had 7 screens in 2 theatres cut by vandals.
Previous incidents in 2016 when someone released noxious spray into three Cineplex theatres around the Toronto showing another South Indian movie, then in 2019 a theatre in Kitchener and Whitby someone slashed screens and released bear spray.
The larger chains are starting to avoid showing South Indian movies due to the vandalisim issue, presumably costs a fair chunk to replace or repair a move theatre screen.
