Random stuff - the anything else thread

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Exactly what I did last year to the day. Tripped up over my flip flop. Last time down woobie duck's beak hole in the garden breaking me ankle <---- which I had form for on a previous occasion, except that was a tree root in Rarotonga and maybe - ahem - a glass of vino. This time boringly I was changing bed linen and the sheet came alive.
Tried a rugby roll as damage limitation which went quite well given I am a little rotund these years. Lumps , bumps and a bit of a sprain + a bluddy annoying mallet tendon injury to my little pinky so a splint for few months now.
I tell you my trials by flip flops so you will not feel alone.
Your leg splint is a bit of a monster. I don't know how you will get your slippers on with that. Good place to keep a pair of knitting needles though.

No martinis right now.i meant last as in before it's empty.
A stiff gin and tonic! One a day.
I was given two bottles for Christmas and they've gone, empty, evaporated.
Just wondering if this was too much, though once upon a time a bottle lasted the weekend. Those were the days.

I don't know, but I doubt it. A few years ago the College of Physicians and Surgeons sent a letter to all the doctors in the province warning about potential liability for prescribing cannabis and I think that helped scare a lot of them. How many doctors know when it will be beneficial and when it won't? My GP only recently brought up the subject of using oil and tincture instead of vaping, and she's always been a strong anti-cannabis doc. Since she runs the clinic in the hood it's no surprise she's against drugs, but after legalisation she still wouldn't prescribe it. She said if it's legal anyway, no point. There was no problem putting me on synthetic morphine though. I had to make the change myself, and I told her, but I could tell she didn't like it.

I got free nicotine patches, nicorette inhaler (and refills several times a day) dispensed to me for the 10 days I was in - but that was before weed was legal.. if you are 'addicted' they should prescribe weed as the stress of withdrawal etc., could be detrimental to your health.. honest guv!!

So if you have a daily 'stiff' G&T, it will last a fortnight, therefore your 2 bottles in January is about spot on. Cheers!!

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
We have a standard jigger that I use to pour a G&T for my wife. I use the 'double' end, which is 50ml (or 1.6oz in Yankee). That means a standard 70cl bottle will have 14 measures in it, and 28 if using the 'single' 25ml measure, but why would anyone want that?!

It's interesting that I chose to say that I pour a G&T "for my wife". Just dawned on me that's because it's been so bloody long since we had anyone else in the house to pour a drink for. God, how depressing. This COVID is sucking the joy out of life. Is it too early for a drink?
