I never heard a forecaster "calling for" snow (or any weather) in the UK. Unions call for an increased minimum wage. Child poverty campaigners call for increased child benefits.
Weather forecasters forecast. Or as some might say...guess.
Or predict.

Yes but we all know the two Englishes are different. Remember the Corn Starch/Cornflour discussion?

Exactly. After all this time here I'm still learning differences. What I thought was a 'French' thing looks like the old "separated by a common language" thing.

Take the French words out of English and it would be in the mud. Remember the Letterkenny clip icefishing in Quebec?

My first trip to America one of the things on the list was to have Chinese food out of those little folded cartons they always have on telly. And to have mooshu (sp?) pork, which they always seemed to order.
I was disappointed that they didn’t have those cartons in Canada. The kids were very disappointed with the food. Scottish Chinese has far fewer vegetables

By American style, I mean like this
Manchu Wok is about the closest I ever found, but they are almost always in malls and no freestanding locations.
